How It Works — Step by Step

Flow 1 — Doctor Generates Prescription & Schedules e-Sanjeevani Appointment

Actor: Consulting Doctor  |  System:e-Sushrut HMIS — OPD Doctor Desk  | Trigger: End of a physical OPD consultation where the doctor determines the patient needs a follow-up but does not need to travel again
1
Log in to e-Sushrut HMIS and Navigate to OPD Module

The doctor opens the e-Sushrut HMIS on their workstation and logs in using their individual credentials (username and password). Upon successful login, the Home Menu screen appears.

  • Click "OPD" from the top navigation bar
  • Click "O P D Doctor Desk" under the Services section on the home screen
2
Search Patient

After clicking O P D Doctor Desk, the Doctor Desk screen opens as a new tab. The respective department's patient list will be loaded. The doctor can search for a patient by Name or CR No.

3
Fill Rx Prescription and Schedule e-Sanjeevani Appointment

On clicking the Rx button, the Prescription screen opens for the patient. The doctor fills the following sections:

  • Vitals & General Examination
  • Chief Complaint, History of Present Illness
  • Diagnosis, Investigations, Procedures Advised
  • Treatment Advice (Drugs), Referral

In the Follow Up and Visit Summary section, the doctor sets:

  • End Treatment — Yes / No radio button
  • Planned Visit Date — SOS checkbox OR Sanjeevani Appointment button (green) for teleconsultation
  • Date picker — preferred date; the system auto-assigns the next available time slot
  • Follow-Up Notes — clinical notes for the next visit
4
Prescription Generated with e-Sanjeevani Appointment Confirmation

After clicking "Save & Preview Rx", the system generates and saves the OPD Prescription in HMIS. The prescription includes an e-Sanjeevani Follow Up line at the bottom confirming:

  • The e-Sanjeevani appointment has been automatically booked
  • The patient has been assigned a unique Appointment Number
  • The date and time slot have been confirmed

The doctor hands this printed prescription to the patient. No separate communication or manual booking is needed.
